After a good summer season of exhibitions we were delighted to host the first theatrical production in the theatre for perhaps 30 years, brought to our stage by Shakefest.
Shakefest’s stage version of Ronald Blythe’s Akenfield premiered with us and sold out for its three nights here in Framlingham, before touring other venues in Suffolk. It really fired our appetite for more of theatre.
Akenfield was followed by a return visit of Flipside festival before our winter shutdown. Unfortunately the current lack of heating and poor lighting in the building makes it hard to use in the colder months. This is something which Fram Arts is hoping to address, but it needs major support.
Despite the cold, in December 2025 Fram Arts organised a Christmas shadowpuppets evening with Indefinite Articles, this being a drop in event for families and small children as part of Framlingham’s Christmas festivities. The event was kindly supported by Framlingham Town Council.
